Our material of choice is typically aluminum or aluminum-based materials as opposed to steel. Structures made from aluminum offer a great deal of flexibility as well as the opportunity for aesthetic customization, and its light weight often reduces costs for shipping. Some say a significant drawback of steel structures is that they are very light in weight, compared to roofing materials such as tile or slate; however, our clients are pleased when they realize a reduced shipping cost as a result of the lighter weight material.

Steel structures and aluminum structures are resistant to any sort of fire, which creates more peace of mind for the homeowner or business owner. The other primary advantage of having steel roofing is that you do not need to spend much money on maintenance. The low cost of maintenance coupled with its long shelf life means that it is a low cost investment in the long run.

The other benefit that steel structures with steel roofing have is that these can be installed directly over an existing roofing structure. However, usually such a method of installation is not employed. Instead, the old materials used on the roof are removed so the surface is cleaned properly. Only then is the steel roofing attached to the roof.

Steel structures do have their drawbacks involving cost of materials, corrosion and poor fire resistance if untreated. Steel structures also have a disadvantage of being susceptible to rust and corrosion unless they are treated. On the other hand, with aluminum, you will have the perfect roofing material, which is light in weight, highly durable, rust-proof, corrosion-proof and lasts for many long years.
