OMNI*HUB SYSTEM
The Omni*Hub system utilizes 6061-T6 solid aluminum
hubs that have the required attachment points drilled and threaded.
This provides a pure, smooth, spherical hub with no unsightly holes.
The struts have tapered solid end plugs that are welded or threaded
to the ends of the struts. The struts are connected to the hubs
via recessed, cadmium or zinc plated SAE 5 or SAE 8 steel bolts.
The bolt at each end of a strut is screwed into a hub by rotation
of the circular collar until the internal washer is bearing on the
inside of the end plug. The bolt transfers the tension loads from
the strut to the hub and the collar transfers the compression loads.
The Omni*Hub system has two types that accommodate
various cladding, architectural and cost requirements. These types
include:
Omni*Hub
A pure, smooth spaceframe
system with round members, concealed fastening hardware and custom
architectural finishes for maximum visual aesthetics and impact.
The Omni*Hub Standard System uses round tubing throughout
the structural framework. Cladding such as fabric membrane can
be tension mounted above the framework from the hub points. Cladding
requiring continuous support such as glass or decking is typically
supported on mullions attached to the hub points. The Omni*Hub
system is extremely flexible in the forms that can be created
and therefore is one of Conservateks most popular products.
Omni*Hub
Type A
This system employs round tubing for all struts
except those that support the cladding system. The cladding members
are rectangular in shape, accommodating both bending and axial
loads.
The Omni*Hub System Type A is an architecturally
clean and exciting product that provides cost savings since an
extra mullion system is not needed.
